Occasionally, on the photographer/model networking sites I use (primarily Purpleport, sometimes Modelmayhem for US/Japan shoots, Purestorm less and less) you’ll see the odd post from (generalising here, but usually…) a new model, seemingly frustrated, and posting along the lines of ‘why are there not more castings for fashion shoots?’ Continue reading “Why I don’t shoot Fashion (much)”

Alice Katz
It’s always a wonderful and exciting thing to find a model with whom you gel Immediately, and with whom you know you have the prospect of many more productive collaborations in the future. Alice is one such model. I think it’s fair to say that our first shoot went off in directions that neither of us were planning for, and has given us some wonderful images that we’ve both very happy with and very proud of. Before I get into the shoot, a little background.
Cheryl Elizabeth and Helen
Cheryl is a model with whom I’ve shot a couple of times in the past, and when I had the chance to shoot with her again recently, I jumped at the chance. For this shoot, I would be heading to Cheryl’s place in Angmering, where I’d be able to take advantage of the ‘Hippie Tent’ pitched in her garden for the whole of the summer, as well as the fabulous beaches just minutes walk away from Cheryls place.
Joceline Brooke-Hamilton
I’ve shot with Joceline a number of times over the past three or four years, and every shoot has been an enjoyable and productive experience. She’s a super-busy model, though, and-aside from the odd cancellation-it’s usually a case of planning for a shoot many months in advance. Indeed, the shoot which I’ve completed in December 2016, was originally booked back in February 2016, ten months ahead of time.
Kristelle
‘You have to shoot with Kristelle! Really, I don’t know why you’ve not worked with her already…’ so began the latest conversation with Lucy… Lucy’s been suggesting I shoot with Kristelle for a while, but we’d never managed to get a date that could work for us both. Finally, one rainy day late last year, we both managed to be free. Continue reading “Kristelle”
Anita De Bauch
I’ve shot with Anita several times over a few years, and whilst she’s recently moved away from London, she was touring a couple of months ago, including a short stop off in London. I was more than happy to jump at the chance to work with her again. I wanted to avoid a straightforward studio shoot, instead wanting to find a shooting space with a little more character than you’d find in the normal white walls, white paper, grey paper rolls studio… Continue reading “Anita De Bauch”

Lucy Fur: London Hotel Shoot 2016
This Summer, my friend (and wonderful model) Lucy Fur and I decamped to a hotel in London for a bit of a boudoiry shoot. Something I’d been wanting to do for a while was to take a proper flyer-to shoot in a space that I hadn’t seen before the shoot. Of course, if you’re going to do something like this, it’s important that you are working with a model who you trust, and just as importantly, who trusts you… Continue reading “Lucy Fur in London”
